Hi everyone,
I wanted to take a few moments and just say thank you to all who came to the meeting today. There were so many new faces (and some old familiar ones too) that came today, I feel beyond grateful for all of you.
What we do, as a club, can not happen without people like you. We are the future of amateur radio in our area. I am beyond excited to see the support that we are getting, and I am looking forward to a continuation of this.
Some key points to keep in mind if you want to get active and join in some club activities:
1.) Always come willing to learn. I've been involved with the club since 2015 personally, but we have other members who have been involved with the club since the late 90's. And honestly, I can say that I learn every time we meet, as there is always something new that I didn't know about. I feel like I can say the same thing for our older members who have been there longer than me as well.
2.) Step up and participate! This is probably the biggest thing. We can not do the activities that we do if no one shows up. We are always happy to join in and, well, communicate with each other. (That's what amateur radio is all about, isn't it?) Being your President for the last year and a half now, I see this club as a family. We all work and have fun together, and I can not wait to see what the future holds for us.
3.) Bring your ideas! As I said, this club can't function without you. Do you have an idea that you want to bring forward that the club can work on? Let us know and we'll see what we can do! There isn't anything that we can't do, as long as we set our minds to it.
As a heads up for those who weren't at the meeting today, a few announcements:
May 6 - 1000-1200: VE Test Session.
May 6 - 1100-2300: Indiana QSO Party (HF OPPORTUNITY! COME GET ON THE AIR!)
May 19-21: Hamvention in Dayton
June 24 1100-June 25 1500: Field Day at the Wayne County Fairgrounds (HF OPPORTUNITY! COME GET ON THE AIR!)
I look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
